HVF is a QEMU accelerator on macOS that employs Hypervisor.framework.

Roadmap

HVF is mostly stable but some features are missing:

  • gdbstub
  • x2apic
  • TSS emulation for legacy guests
  • MMIO traps for vectored instructions
    • MMX
    • SSE
    • SSE2
    • AVX
  • Snapshots (loadvm/savevm)

Known issues

HVF bugs are tracked in the launchpad
